Money Meter: Follow the cash, spot the trend
Five billion dollars. One-hundred-twenty-five deals.
Smart money is back on the table.

Who Got the Bag?
AI, infra, and DePIN dominate the top ticket sizes in June’s funding wave.
The top ticket sizes in the web3 have been towards infrastructure –
- SharpLink took $425M: AI-powered infra that’s making TradFi execs raise eyebrows and chequebooks.
- BitMine raised $250M: Merging Layer 1 sauce with on-chain AI execution like it’s peanut butter and jelly.
- Kalshi got $185M: Think of it as DePIN meets dev tooling now with extra spice.
Sectors on Fire:
- AI x Blockchain: Not just hype. From predictive automation to LLM-powered tooling, AI-infused blockchain projects are on every serious VC’s radar.
- Infra & Tokenization: Cross-chain is back. Tokenizing real-world stuff is finally working.
- Layer 2 Tooling: Rollup-as-a-Service is giving SaaS energy — and it’s hot.
Money Map
North America & Asia remain dominant in deal count and dollars. Europe & LATAM are catching up fast as well driven by lower startup costs and local VC maturity.
Geographic Fund Distribution.
Takeaway
- United States keeps the pole position.
- Hong Kong and Singapore rise on cost light teams.
- Europe and LATAM narrow the gap as local funds mature.
Now let’s see who’s investing and what’s the hot take for you.
VC Deal Flow – Who’s Investing and What’s Hot
The name of the game this month is ‘Mid-stage momentum’. Funds are leaning into projects that show operational traction, not just slide decks and tokenomics.
By that we mean
- Teams that hit technical milestones or user growth benchmarks are commanding larger checks.
- From smart wallet analytics to governance automation, AI is driving strategic round leadership.
- Especially those projects with multichain and modular architecture which have dev-first environments and are ready for enterprise.
And Who’s Writing the Checks?
Coinbase Ventures still leads, but newer funds are rising fast and writing meaningful checks.
- Coinbase Ventures led the cycle with 9 deals.
- Pantera, Galaxy, and a16z remained dominant with targeted bets in infra and DePIN.
- Emerging players like Blizzard Fund, Yzi Labs, and Mirana Ventures showed consistent activity across newer verticals.
ICP Ecosystem Update – From Solana to Tokyo
Solana Integration Goes Live
ICP’s Chain Fusion technology has officially gone multichain. Canisters (smart contracts) can now natively interact with Solana assets, joining previous integrations with Bitcoin and Ethereum, all without bridges or custodians.
This breakthrough is powered by threshold Ed25519 signatures and the newly deployed SOL RPC canister, governed by the Network Nervous System (NNS) DAO.
Developers can now execute native SOL-to-BTC swaps, cross-chain interactions, and multichain logic only from one contract on ICP.
World Computer Summit 2025 (WCS25)
4th Anniversary Celebration in Zurich
On June 3, over 1,000 attendees gathered for WCS25 in Zurich to celebrate four years of Internet Computer innovation. Keynotes, panels, and demos spotlighted the protocol’s rapid evolution across AI, Web3, and multichain infrastructure.
Caffeine AI Platform Unveiled
Dominic Williams debuted Caffeine which is an AI-native platform that lets users build dApps using natural language.
It introduces a new programming language built for AI agents, and positions ICP as a frontrunner in the ‘AI x Web3’ space. The alpha waitlist opened during the summit, with beta access expected in July.
Ecosystem Demos and Project Showcases
The Ecosystem Stage featured projects like KongSwap, Liquidium, PiggyCell, Omnity Network, and others. DFINITY teams delivered key updates on:
- Chain Fusion
- OISY Wallet
- Next-gen dev tools
Catch the recap at worldcomputer.com/wcs25.
Developer & Community Momentum
ICP was the most actively developed blockchain in June, so the momentum is clearly in our favour.
ICP Tops GitHub Development Activity
ICP was the most actively developed blockchain in June, with a 30-day average of 557.7 GitHub events, according to Santiment.
This level of output surpasses all major competitors clearly showing deep dev commitment and protocol traction.
Quantum Leap Labs Incubator Launch
In collaboration with ICP Hub Canada & US, Quantum Leap Labs launched North America’s first ICP-focused incubator.
The program supports teams from idea to deployment, with a focus on:
- SNS-powered DAOs
- AI + blockchain integration
- Next-gen dApps built on ICP
Enterprise & Global Adoption
Our June’s fundraise report proves correct. Enterprises have turned their faces to blockchain and its only way to go now.
Corporate Onboarding in Japan
A leading Japanese telecom has began onboarding clients to ICP and training 10+ developers for real-world production use. The move positions ICP for wider enterprise-grade adoption across East Asia.
Hubs Go Global
Hubs from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas participated in WCS25. ICP isn’t just global. is now ‘glocal’.
Technical Upgrades & Roadmap Progress
ICP is constantly innovating to ease access of data to its users as well as devs while keeping in mind the sovereignty of the data as well.
ICP Dashboard Upgrade
The newly updated ICP dashboard delivers:
- Improved token tracking
- Smoother ecosystem navigation
- Easier data access for devs and users
AI & Data Sovereignty at the Core
From decentralized cloud to tamper-proof storage, ICP’s pushing toward privacy-first AI infra.
Web3 Wisdom: Learn Something New!
ICP’s Motoko language now supports Stable Memory, a breakthrough enabling smart contracts to store and manage large datasets persistently.
What Is Motoko Stable Memory?
Motoko Stable Memory introduces a powerful new capability to the Internet Computer’s native smart contract language. Previously, canisters operated with limited and non-persistent memory structures, which made it difficult to scale complex applications or manage large datasets efficiently.
Stable Memory solves this by enabling long-term, persistent storage directly within the smart contract itself. This feature allows developers to read and write structured data across upgrade cycles without losing state or performance.
Why It Matters
Developers can now build dApps that handle significantly larger volumes of user data while maintaining ICP’s core benefits: low-latency execution, on-chain scalability, and security. This unlocks a wide range of use cases that demand durable memory, including:
- High-performance DeFi protocols with complex transaction histories
- Social applications that store user content and profiles natively on-chain
- Gaming platforms with persistent in-game assets and leaderboards
- Enterprise-grade apps requiring consistent data retrieval and version control
Developers can now build enterprise-grade logic natively on-chain without any offloading or complexity.
Learn more about how to use Stable Memory in the Motoko documentation.
That’s a Wrap for June!
June 2025 will be remembered as the turning point when capital surged, AI collided with infrastructure, and ICP showed it could be more than a layer. It could be the platform.
From billion-dollar rounds to live multichain breakthroughs the stakes are getting higher.
Capital. Code. Credibility. It’s all expanding.
