DroomDroom Editorial Ethics & Guidelines

At DroomDroom, our mission is to deliver world-class, accurate, and accessible educational content about the Web3 industry. To maintain the trust of our readers, we hold our team to the highest standards of journalistic integrity and transparency.

Editorial Independence & Transparency

  • Independent Operations: The DroomDroom editorial and research team operates independently to ensure content integrity. Our writers cover the Web3 and cryptocurrency industry without fear or favor.
  • Corporate Disclosures: In the interest of full transparency, any articles mentioning DroomDroom Corporation’s direct investors, partners, or parent entities will include a prominent disclosure within the body text.
  • Compensation: DroomDroom employees and contributors may receive equity or options in DroomDroom Corporation as part of their compensation, but this does not influence the objectivity of our content.

Content Standards & Integrity

  • Commitment to Accuracy: We strive for the utmost accuracy, fairness, and objectivity in all our educational guides, news, and research.
  • Accountability: Our writers understand the impact their content can have on individual and project reputations. We are diligent in seeking a diverse range of perspectives and corroborating information from multiple sources.
  • Corrections: All factual errors in published articles will be corrected promptly. Corrections and amendments will be disclosed in a note at the bottom of the article. For fundamental errors, the disclosure will be placed at the top and broadcast across our social channels so the correction reaches as wide an audience as the original piece.
  • Zero Tolerance for Bribery: Editors and writers may never accept payment from any company or individual for coverage or preferential treatment. Gifts from covered entities are strictly prohibited, with rare exceptions for items of nominal value (e.g., a coffee mug or a perishable item).
  • Opinion Pieces: Opinion articles, whether from outside contributors or staff, are always clearly labeled to distinguish them from objective reporting.
  • Sourcing & Pseudonymity: We respect the pseudonymity of credible developers and figures who have established reputations in the Web3 space under their online handles. We will not reveal their legal identities without consent unless there is an overwhelming public interest. However, we are highly cautious with anonymous sources; all stories originating from an anonymous source require strict corroboration from at least one other party with firsthand knowledge.

Personal Investing

  • Holding Disclosures: DroomDroom writers must disclose any cryptocurrency holdings of $1,000 or more on their author profiles and update these upon any material changes.
  • Conflict Avoidance: Writers must mention any potential conflicts of interest in their articles and minimize covering assets in which they have a direct financial stake. Our platform must never be misused for personal financial gain.
  • Trading Restrictions: Active day-trading is forbidden during working hours. Team members are not permitted to short crypto assets or trade futures contracts. Any cryptocurrencies purchased by a DroomDroom team member must be held for a minimum of 30 days.

Company Stocks & Equity

  • Stricter Equity Rules: Our policy on owning traditional stocks is highly restrictive. Because publicly traded companies are managed top-down, the potential for conflict of interest is higher than with decentralized open-source protocols.
  • Prohibited Holdings: All DroomDroom editors and reporters are barred from owning shares in pure-play publicly traded crypto firms. Furthermore, writers who regularly cover diversified companies involved in Web3 are not allowed to own shares in those specific firms.

Social Media Conduct

  • Brand Voice: DroomDroom’s official social media accounts represent our authoritative editorial voice, dedicated to driving the conversation around Web3 and decentralization.
  • Personal Conduct: Team members are encouraged to interact with our community through personal handles. While expressing their distinct voices, they are expected to conduct themselves professionally. They may not make personal attacks or spread unverified rumors that could damage an individual’s or company’s reputation.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • AI Assistance: DroomDroom may occasionally utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist in generating content, including text and images.
  • Strict Fact-Checking: Our policy mandates that all AI-assisted content is carefully edited, reviewed, and fact-checked by our human editorial team.
  • Transparency: We maintain transparency by clearly disclosing the use of AI to our readers through an in-article disclosure and a dedicated byline identifying the AI as a contributor.

Advertising & Affiliate Links

  • Ad Standards: DroomDroom generates revenue through online advertising but maintains strict quality standards. We do not allow advertising for tokens that are actively seeking investment unless legal documentation proves they are regulated by appropriate authorities (e.g., SEC/CFTC).
  • Affiliate Disclosures: Articles may occasionally contain affiliate links. When an affiliate link is present, the page will include a clear written disclosure. The presence of these links has no influence on editorial decisions, and our commercial team is explicitly forbidden from dictating content to the editorial team.

Events, Partnerships, & Sponsored Content

  • Clear Delineation: DroomDroom may publish sponsored content, which will always be explicitly labeled as such. It is never written by our independent editorial staff and is kept entirely separate from our news, research, and analysis.
  • Event Integrity: Sponsored sessions at any DroomDroom-hosted events will be clearly billed as sponsored. Sponsorship relationships have zero impact on independent editorial coverage or organic event programming.

Giveaways & Contests

  • Impartiality: DroomDroom journalists and researchers may not accept tokens, NFTs, hardware wallets, or any other merchandise from giveaways, airdrops, or contests that could compromise their ability to impartially cover digital assets or Web3 companies.
