Task Description
Ostium introduced a Points Program that strongly signals the possibility of a future token airdrop. The initiative started on March 31, 2025, and includes both retroactive and ongoing point allocations. Early participants in the public mainnet, private mainnet, testnet, and pre-testnet environments received a retroactive distribution of 10 million points.
Moving forward, at least 500,000 points are released every week based on platform activity. Most points come from trading, referrals, and providing liquidity, with a smaller allocation set aside for notable open-source contributions. Point totals update in real time, and scores convert to points every Sunday at midnight UTC.
Ostium also introduced a rewards system for early community members through a new claiming process. Users can check their profile on Cookie.fun for eligibility and complete the claim whenever the notification appears.
Conditions
Step 1
Account Creation & Retroactive Points
The process begins on the Ostium website, where a connected wallet completes the initial account setup.
Users can view any retroactive point allocations by visiting the Points page and reconnecting the same wallet used in earlier platform phases.
Step 2
Trading Activity & Liquidity Provision
Participation on the platform requires USDC on Arbitrum, which may come from external sources such as exchanges or bridges (e.g., Binance or Rhino.fi).
After depositing USDC into an Ostium account, trading activity contributes to score accumulation, with periodic point-boost announcements shared via Discord.
Liquidity provision is available through designated pools, and liquidity scores are tracked separately from trading scores.
Step 3
Referral System & Community Roles
Each account includes a referral code that yields 1 trading score per 5 scores generated by referred users; referred users receive a 5% trading-score boost.
Discord participation can lead to VIP recognition through constructive feedback or on-chain activity. Upon reaching certain trading-volume thresholds, users may access a VIP registration button within the trading interface.
Step 4
Mobile App Waitlist & Technical Contributions
A waitlist for the upcoming mobile app is accessible on Ostium’s website, where users submit email, region, and trader-type details.
Technical involvement, such as submitting impactful bug reports, protocol research, or open-source contributions, may also qualify for additional points when contributions are considered substantial.
Step 5
Tracking Scores & Weekly Point Conversion
Rankings can be monitored via the leaderboard, and real-time stats appear across trading, referral, and liquidity categories.
Points convert weekly each Sunday at midnight UTC, allowing users to review updated totals at the beginning of each cycle.
Project Description
Ostium is a decentralized perpetuals platform that supports trading across a wide variety of markets, including forex, metals, energy products, global indices, and long-tail real-world assets (RWAs). Built on Arbitrum, it distinguishes itself by offering far more than standard crypto-only perpetuals, providing access to a broad set of financial instruments through a decentralized interface.
The project is backed by major investors such as Coinbase Ventures, General Catalyst, SIG, Localglobe, and Alliance DAO, collectively raising $23.5 million. Ostium’s mission is to connect traditional financial markets with decentralized finance by making multiple asset classes available on-chain.
Frequently Asked Questions
Points are issued on a weekly cycle. The system converts accumulated scores into points every Sunday at midnight UTC, after which the scoring period resets for the following week.
Users can connect a wallet on the points page at ostium.app/points to see their existing point totals, live score updates, and their position on the leaderboard.
No fixed minimum amount has been listed. However, point accumulation generally reflects the scale and frequency of a user’s activity on the platform.
